100 Beards across Scotland

For the last 18 months or so, I’ve been fortunate to work on a series of projects for major US beardcare company Beardbrand. Been all over Europe and had a couple of visits to the US, all to photograph some damn fine bearded men.

Through my travels I became more aware of the major growth in the craft of traditional mens barbering. Adding to a number of already established barbers across Scotland and the rest of Europe, lots of new shops have been opening up, attracting guys to come along and enjoy the experience of getting the hair cut or beard trimmed in a more chilled way than before.

I floated the idea of doing a Scottish Barbers and Beards project past Eric, Lindsey and Currie at Beardbrand and they agreed. I’ll do a blog on the shops I visited next time round but man it was a fun project.

How I never got arrested for suggesting to the guys that they follow me up a lane, nip into a car park, go behind this wall ’cause I wanna take your picture, I’ll never know. Strangely enough they all agreed ha.

Each of the shops, the teams of barbers and their clients were just amazingly helpful and I can’t thank them all enough.

I hadn’t set out to shoot a specific number of guys but when I finished and saw how many I’d photographed, it was spot on 100, couldn’t have planned it better…..

Enjoy all of this fine facial hair and I hope you all have the most amazing festive season.

Peace and Love
